These terms apply when you use NeckShoulderGuide (https://neckshoulderguide.com), operated by Nigel Chua in Singapore. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Using this site
NeckShoulderGuide offers general education about neck, shoulder and upper back pain. The clinical content is written and reviewed by Louise Yow, a physiotherapist registered in Singapore since 2006.
- Education only: the content is not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis, an assessment or a treatment plan for you.
- No professional relationship: reading the site, joining the email list or buying a guide does not create a clinician and patient relationship with Louise Yow or anyone else.
- No clinical services: the site does not offer consultations, assessments, treatment or appointments.
Please read our medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
If you think you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department.
Your own clinicians come first
The people who have examined you know things about your condition that a website cannot. If anything on this site differs from what your doctor, surgeon or physical therapist has told you, follow their advice. After surgery, your surgeon’s protocol comes first. Check with them before you start, stop or change any exercise or treatment.
Accuracy
We work to keep the content accurate and review it over time. Research and clinical practice change, so a page may not reflect newer research or guidance published since it was written or last reviewed. Timelines and ranges on the site describe what is typical, not what will happen to you.
Intellectual property
The text, guides, images and other content on this site are copyright © Nigel Chua and Louise Yow, unless a page says otherwise. All rights are reserved.
- You may: read, print and save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and quote a short passage if you credit NeckShoulderGuide and link back to the page you quoted.
- You may not: republish whole pages or large parts of them, sell or charge for the content, or present it as your own, without our written permission.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, such as public health and medical organizations. We link to them because we think they are useful, but we do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on that site.
Digital guides
If you buy a guide, these points apply:
- Your license: you get a personal, non-transferable license to read and use the guide yourself. You do not buy the copyright.
- No resale or sharing: you may not resell, share, upload, forward or give away the guide or its files, in whole or in part.
- Checkout: guides are sold through a merchant of record, which handles payment, sales tax and VAT. Its own terms also apply to the purchase and are shown at checkout.
- Refunds: refunds are handled under the refund policy published with each guide.
- Education only: like the rest of the site, a guide is education, not an assessment or treatment, and the points above about your own clinicians apply to it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the site and the guides are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of the site or a guide, or from relying on its content. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for a guide is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep any rights the consumer protection laws of your country give you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not take away any protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow it.
